Teapot

Teapot was ummm... interesting. We walked inside and it looked like the 80's had thrown up all over the room. *laugh*
The decor was... um... interesting. And the food was pretty good. The drumsticks were no where near as good as the ones I had in Toronto and they were out of all the things we wanted to order.... and...they had drinks on display (sparkling water etc) but they didn't have them for sale. Huh? But the presentation made up for everthing. Oooooh. I forgot to post the photos of the donuts from Mighty O. Mighty good.

Time for bed. We are bushed... I hope Fergus is having fun. I haven't heard a peep from the in-laws.

I don't like Mondays...

Everything fun seems to be closed on Mondays in Seattle. Poo.
I went to Sidecar to visit ... Closed on Monday. Then we went next door to PizzaPi. Closed on Monday... see me crying?

Then we went to Elliot Bay Bookstore (YAY THey were open) and I signed some books and looked around. What an incredible store.

Gerry and I did some wandering around Pioneer Square and then hit Madison Market for yet another Faux Turkey Sandwich and Gerry ate 4 donuts from Mighty O Donuts. He's gonna get fat again.. Tee hee.

Now we're waiting to hear back from Greg... we might meet up for dinner tonight. I think we're going to go to Teapot, but for now. I need a nap. I'm pooped.

The Globe

Woke up exhausted after a rough nights sleep (Auntie Flow came to visit in the middle of the night) and we had a quick bath and ran down the street to The Globe. Which is one of my favourite restaurants in Seattle. Every time I come into town, it's the first place I hit. Where we met up with some old-dear-loved-haven't seen in ages friends and had a wonderful breakfast.Gerry waited anxiously for his french toast... thank god he had a coffee or he'd be unbearable. Vegan French Toast... who says Vegans don't eat well?
I had grilled tofu and veggies over black beans and rice with salsa and guac. A breakfast full of protien and yummy goodness.

Greg ordered the bisquits and gravy that The Globe is known for, but I forgot to get a photo... but we're going there for breakfast tomorrow before Gerry heads back to Victoria. So you'll see tomorrow. :)

This is not a trend...

I was lucky enough to be a part of something special last night. No words can explain...

Seattle bound!

Hopped in the smartcar and headed to the ferry terminal.

We paid extra money to BC Ferries to sit in the first class section of the boat.... ahhh so quiet. So nice. Free coffee and no kids screaming. Being yuppie scum can sometimes be fun. We sat and read books about NYC and tried to figure out all the things we can do in the short few days that we'll be there. Soooo much to do. Such little time. Then we headed to Abbotsford to drop Fergus off with the In-laws. It's so comforting to know that he is staying with family who loves him almost as much as we do.

We arrived in Seattle and headed to the B&B. What a nice place to stay... we are on the third floor of this ancient house and our little room is lovely.

We had a nap...made a few phone calls...

Ok. Yes. I'm wearing a track suit. I'm very J-lo. Fame has changed me... but what you should be wondering is why the phone booth is so tiny. I'm five foot-one. ... Hmmmm.

Then we headed down to Neumos for the Trial show.

Hello! I’m leaving again. This time for Seattle.

Gerry and I are headed down for the Trial Reunion show which is going to rock my socks off. I’m so excited. If you see me there… come say hi.

I’ll also be doing a book signing at the Madison Market. Please come down and see me… I don’t want to be sitting there all alone in the soup aisle. *laugh*

Vancouver is shrinking

Vancouver is shrinking... I swear.

Let me explain. I only just started driving... I got my license when I turned 33 and my entire world opened up to me. Before I rarely went to Vancouver or did any traveling because I always have to depend on the kindness of friends and family to drive me around.

The day I started driving... everything changed. I can go where I want, do what I want when I want it. Run errands without having to wait for Gerry or someone else to drive me around. It's been such an freeing experience.

While I am comfortable driving around the Victoria area, I just started driving over to Vancouver by myself this year. At first I was very nervous, but armed with my trusty map... I realized how easy it is to get around. This last trip (my 2nd time driving alone in Vancouver) went very well. I navigated around Vancouver like a pro and felt this funny feeling in my chest as I drove towards the ferry on my way home.

Oh. Wait... I think that's pride. I'm proud of myself. *laugh*
I used to live such a small tiny life that I designed myself... because I refused to drive. Now you have to fight me for the drivers seat.

So... the trip.
Vancouver was a lot of fun. I missed the 1pm ferry on the way over and had to wait for the 3pm one, so my casual relaxing day of going over to Van turned into a stressful one, dodging traffic so I could arrive to my demo on time. I got there with about 30 minutes to spare, so I grabbed some food and headed down to the ocean (a block away) to relax. What a view...

The demo went well... I forgot to take a photo of the crowd, but i had a really great time just sitting with the group talking about Veganism and enjoying everyones company. I also got to meet friends I've only known via the internet. As well as some new friendly faces.

It was a short but sweet visit and I headed home the next a.m. to a very sad dog. Fergus is not happy with all my traveling. It's really hard on him and I feel terrible.

So today is all about Fergus. We're gonna have some fun.
And then do laundry.
Why?
Why so much laundry?
