I hate buses...

FINALLY got my turntable hooked up to my stereo and to celebrate and I have decided to listen to every single LP that I own...

To christen my new over turned leaf I put on Never Mind The Bollocks by The Sex Pistols. It's the original album I had from highschool and it's in great shape. The cover is a little faded but the lp is flawless.

God I love this band... what can I say that hasn't already been said. I still wish I had said something to Steve Jones when I saw him in LA. I wish I had told him how much his music meant to me growing up and how it changed my life.

Next I put on the soundtrack to the 1983 film Suburbia. My buddy Todd and I rented this movie so many times that we knew the lines of the movie backwards and forwards. Great soundtrack with bands like The Vandals, D.I. and T.S.O.L.

And this is an actual soundtrack ... with the movie score on one side and the live music on the other. Not like soundtracks today that are full of pop songs.

The acting in this movie is pretty silly but all the live performance stuff is fun to watch and some parts of this movie still gives me chills when I watch it... love the part when they walk up the street and across that persons car in slow motion. LOVE IT!

There are so many awesome quotes from this movie that I still use in conversation to this day... almost as many quotes as Say Anything.

Here's a little snippet for you to watch. And yes that's Flea from the RHCP ... He plays Razzle. Cue the "way back" machine...

JBCC

I went to an amazing show the other night at the JBCC. I love Victoria's punk rock scene.

By the way... short shorts are the new black hoodie. :)

In this photo Gerry sings a soothing lullaby song by Tough as Nails...

Jodi subbed in for Jay and played a wicked set with Ak-47!

my dog is so smart...

So Gerry and I have started working out at our local gym... we have always had a hard time fitting regular exercise into our lives, so we decided to turn over a new leaf and start getting up earlier and hitting the gym before work.

Unsure of what to do with our howling dog... we leave him in the car and let him hang out in the parking lot while we work out.

Fergus is not a morning dog. He will stay under the covers until noon if I let him... so we have to get him up and with bleary doggie eyes staring up at us we take him down to the car.

Well Fergus had just decided that he'll have none of that anymore. *laugh*

He now hids in his doggie tent or under the bed when we start getting ready to leave in the morning. So the last 4 days in a row I've video taped him to make sure we don't have a repeat of last time... and he's fine. My dog has taught himeself how to be "ok" with us leaving. It's crazy! He's so smart...

So now we have to test him with an evening out. See how he does... :)

My Dad has very long arms...

My Dad is going to be on an episode of Masters of Science Fiction on ABC where he'll be finally able to show the world his freakishly long tentacle arms that he's been hiding from the world for over 60 years.
Yes. It's true. The Kramers are not human but come from a galaxy far far away...

I'll let you know when the episode is going to air!! :)

racquetball

Gerry and I went to the gym last night and played racquetball... neither of us know how to play so we just lobbed the ball back and forth and I've never laughed so hard in my life. It was a comedy of errors... I can hardly move today. *laugh* Me so tired. I forgot to get a photo of me and Gerry in our protective head gear... next time. :)

For those of you wondering... I'm starting to feel a little better. It's a looong story but in a nutshell I was in a car accident just before promoting GOV. To get through the enourmous amount of pain I was in during the book tour I depended on doctor prescribed pain killers. No... I didn't get hooked and end up in re-hab with Mel Gibson but the drugs stripped the lining of my stomach. My tummy wasn't making acid and was making me sick every time I ate. So my naturopath and I healed my gut and things were fine for quite a while.

About 8 weeks ago I started to feel crappy. About a week before I cancelled my trip to Toronto I had a major episode of Gastritis. I could hardly walk I was in so much pain. The medication the clinic doctor gave me made me feel a little better but the medication made me woozy and extremely exhausted.

RANT: Excuse me? What is with western medicine? Why do they just put a bandaid over a gaping wound rather then actually get to the root of the problem and fix it?

Anyway... got to my naturopath asap and am starting to feel a little better. The last 3 days have been pain free and my energy is up (hence the racquetball). So that's my story. I hope ya'll had fun at Veg Fair, I'm so sad I couldn't make it... how was it? Did you have fun?

$10 000

Does anyone have $10,000 they can give me so I can go to Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp and be in a band with Jane Wiedlin?
